Muncie Couple Arrested After Receiving Package Containing Pound of Meth
A Muncie couple was arrested after a package containing a pound of methamphetamine was delivered to their home.
Investigation and Arrest
Two individuals, Brandan Scott Freytag, 31, and Racheal Nicole Aigner, 29, were arrested in Muncie after a package containing a pound of methamphetamine was delivered to their home. The Muncie-Delaware County Drug Task Force had been monitoring the package, which was mailed from California and detected by a narcotic-trained K-9. U.S. Postal Service inspectors pulled the package, and upon opening it, found three vacuum-sealed packages containing a pound of meth.
The package was resealed and delivered to Freytag's home on Friday, January 30. The Muncie Police Department SWAT team then raided the house, leading to the arrest of Freytag and Aigner.
Charges and Evidence
Freytag was held on suspicion of:
- Three counts of dealing in meth
- Three counts of neglect of a dependent
- Single counts of possession of a controlled substance and maintaining a common nuisance
Aigner was arrested on suspicion of:
- Two counts of dealing in meth
- Three counts of neglect of a dependent
- Single counts of possession of a controlled substance and maintaining a common nuisance
During the investigation, authorities found additional evidence, including:
- Bags containing another pound and a half of meth
- A large pill press used to make fake pharmaceutical pills
- Orange tablets believed to be pressed methamphetamine pills
Investigation and Statements
Freytag reportedly told investigators that he had purchased the meth through the Dark Web and was making up to $2,500 a week producing and selling "meth pills." He also stated that he bought a pound of meth "a couple of times a month" and planned to buy a second pill press to produce Xanax bars.
Aigner claimed she was aware Freytag was involved in something, but she maintained she had no role in the drug-related activities.
Next Steps
The Delaware County Prosecutor's office will determine whether formal charges will be filed. Both Freytag and Aigner were released from jail after posting a $75,000 bond. The investigation involved the U.S. Postal Service, the Muncie-Delaware County Drug Task Force, and the federal Drug Enforcement Administration.
Child Care and Additional Information
Three children, aged 12 years to 3 months, found in the house were placed in the care of the Indiana Department of Child Services. Court records reflect no prior felony charges against Freytag or Aigner.
