"its4real" Dark Web Fentanyl Trafficker Sentenced to 10 Years
A Modesto man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for operating a sophisticated dark web drug trafficking operation under the vendor monikers "igogrraawwr" and "its4real," generating over $800,000 in cryptocurrency sales.
Devlin Hosner, 37, received the sentence from Senior U.S. District Judge John A. Mendez in Sacramento on charges related to a conspiracy to distribute fentanyl and methamphetamine. The sentencing concludes a federal investigation into one of the darknet's most prolific fentanyl operations.
The Operation
Hosner and his co-defendant Holly Adams, 36, sold fentanyl-laced counterfeit oxycodone pills and methamphetamine through dark web marketplaces including ToRReZ, Dark0de, and World Market between 2020 and 2022. Over the course of their conspiracy, the pair finalized more than 1,100 transactions of narcotics and other contraband, receiving more than $800,000 in cryptocurrency.
To conceal their profits, they laundered money through cryptocurrency mixers, digital wallets, and other online financial tools designed to obscure transaction trails. They shipped their fentanyl pills to buyers throughout the United States using USPS, UPS, and other delivery services.
Initial Contact and Continued Operations
The pair's operation continued even after initial law enforcement contact. In September 2021, state officers executed a search warrant at their residence. Hosner attempted to impede officers' entry while Adams destroyed pills by pouring them into a chemical solution. Despite their arrests at that time, both were released and quickly resumed selling fentanyl on the dark web, unaware they had become targets of a federal investigation.
Operational Security Failures
The investigation uncovered striking operational security failures that ultimately exposed the pair:
- Adams sent an undercover law enforcement officer her bank account number, routing number, and real name
- Adams sent pictures of counterfeit oxycodone pills in her hand to the undercover officer
- Adams' PGP key on ToRReZ Market included her email address, linked to her Gmail account
- Adams had a user account on the adult website manyvids.com with the username "grraawwr76" and a profile image depicting her
- Hosner maintained an Instagram account under his real name, "devlinhosner," which followed Adams' Instagram account "hollygrraawwr"
- Adams posted pictures of a dog on Instagram that matched photos uploaded to the igogrraawwr profile on ToRReZ Market

The Federal Bust
Federal agents executed a search warrant at a hotel room in Riverside County in March 2022, seizing nearly a kilogram of fentanyl-pressed oxycodone pills and 60 grams of methamphetamine. Both Hosner and Adams were subsequently arrested on federal charges.
Hosner pleaded guilty on December 9, 2025. His co-defendant Adams had already entered a guilty plea on June 18, 2024, and received a 12-year prison sentence on June 3, 2025.
Broader Context
This case was part of Operation SpecTor, a coordinated international effort spanning three continents to disrupt fentanyl and opioid trafficking on the darknet. The operation resulted in:
- 288 arrests
- Seizure of over 117 firearms
- 850 kilograms of drugs, including 64 kilograms of fentanyl or fentanyl-laced narcotics
- $53.4 million in cash and virtual currencies
Investigation
The case was investigated by the Northern California Illicit Digital Economy (NCIDE) Task Force, a multi-agency task force targeting illicit dark web and cryptocurrency activity. The task force included agents from the IRS Criminal Investigation, Homeland Security Investigations, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, the U.S. Postal Service Office of Inspector General, and the Drug Enforcement Administration. Assistant U.S. Attorney Sam Stefanki prosecuted the case.
